Extensive aromatic

THIS IS A SYSTEM USED MAINLY IN MEDITERRANEAN ENVIRONMENTS TO ADORN USABLE TERRACES OR TO FRAME BUILDING ROOFS WITH A TOUCH OF NATURE. THE SHOWY BLOOMS AND INTENSE SCENTS THAT THESE PLANTS SPREAD ARE HIGHLY VALUED. IN THIS CASE, THE GREEN ROOF SYSTEM SERVES THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS:

  • BEAUTIFY TERRACES AND USABLE ROOFS BY OFFERING THE TYPICAL MEDITERRANEAN COLORS AND SCENTS.

  • INHERIT THE MEDITERRANEAN LANDSCAPE CHARACTER BY EFFECTIVELY FITTING INTO THIS ENVIRONMENT.

  • THANKS TO THE INCREASED SUBSTRATE THICKNESS IT IS PARTICULARLY EFFECTIVE IN COOLING THE BUILDING BELOW DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS AND INSULATING IT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. IT PLAYS A STRONG ROLE IN RESTORING THE WATER CYCLE.

  • EXTEND WATERPROOFING LIFESPAN

HARPO EXTENSIVE AROMATIC SYSTEM FEATURES

  • UNI 11235-2015 standard: The system adheres to the UNI 11235-2015 standard, surpassing minimum requirements for individual components and overall system performance as outlined in the 2015 edition.
  • Versatile and lightweight: total thickness is about 18 cm, weight does not exceed 220 kg/sqm at maximum saturation for the BAS system. For the RIC system, with controlled water retention the total thickness is 20 cm, weight about 240 kg.
  • Aesthetic value: perennial, evergreen, fragrant medicinal plants are used in these systems; those resistant to frost and drought, of limited height, should be chosen, allowing for effects and sensations typical of the Mediterranean environment.
  • Usability: limited, the morphology of these plants lends itself poorly to free use, which therefore requires the mandatory construction of walkways.
  • Management costs: maintenance is very low, with two to three interventions per year, mainly to remove weeds and replace some deadfall. Pruning is generally not necessary.
  • Irrigation is only for emergencies, usually dripline, and the vegetation has excellent drought resistance and good regermination capacity.
  • Implementation costs: this solution is particularly economical as far as the system is concerned. The total cost is a function of the choice of plants that are transplanted from pots. It turns out to be convenient in roofs of limited size.
  • Thermal resistance: the system contributes to energy savings with a thermal resistance that varies depending on the water content but is not less than 0.54 (m2 * K)/W, with substrate thickness 15 cm, according to the CNR report for the BAS system.
  • Runoff coefficient: 0.31, according to the University of Genoa report.
