Intensive driveway

UNI 11235-2015 STANDARD: HARPO SYSTEMS ADHERES TO THE STANDARD AND GUARANTEES OR EXCEEDS THE MINIMUM CHARACTERISTICS FOR BOTH ALL INDIVIDUAL ELEMENTS AND SYSTEM PERFORMANCE, PROVIDED BY THE NEW 2015 VERSION.

THE SYSTEM IS USED TO CREATE DRIVEWAY AREAS, PARKING AREAS, TRANSIT AND MANEUVERING AREAS AND IS FULLY INTEGRABLE WITH HARPO GREEN ROOF SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE UNI 11235/2015 STANDARD.

THE DRIVEWAY SYSTEM SERVES THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS:

  • ALLOW GREAT COMPOSITIONAL FREEDOM TO THE DESIGNER IN THE CHOICE OF DRIVEWAY FINISHES

  • ENSURE HIGH MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE AND EFFECTIVE LOAD DISTRIBUTION ON THE UNDERLYING STRATIGRAPHY

  • ENSURE HIGH STABILITY AND STRENGTH BY MAKING THE DRIVEWAY AREA SUITABLE TO SUPPORT HIGH LOADS

  • PROMOTE THE FREE FLOW OF WATER THAT CAN FLOW IN CONTINUITY BELOW THE DRIVEWAY AREA TO THE ADJACENT GREEN AREAS THANKS TO THE TECHNICAL SOLUTION OF CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE. THIS GREATLY SIMPLIFIES THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF WATERPROOFING.

  • EXTEND WATERPROOFING LIFESPAN.

PAVEMENTS ON HARPO CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE

Thanks to the continuous drainage solution of the Harpo verdepensile system, any type of pedestrian flooring, whether draining or not, such as a lined paving on mortar over a cast-in-place concrete slab, can be constructed above MediDrain drainage, buildup and aeration panels.

The continuous drainage solution brings with it a whole range of advantages, including:

  • ensuring free stormwater runoff
  • simplifying and optimizing the design
  • ensuring the continuity of waterproofing, reducing both the risks of infiltration and the costs associated with waterproofing work
  • opt for any type of finish for paved spaces: wood, stone, self-locking elements, driveway lawn, cementitious screeds, rubber granule playground finishes, and so on.

Depending on the expected load, the stratigraphy should be suitably verified with the Harpo verdepensile technical department.

DRAINING DRIVE-OVER LAWN, PARKING AREAS AND TRANSIT LANES IN SELF-LOCKING TILES

Harpo intensive driveway systems allow for a variety of finishes for transit and vehicle parking, while still ensuring continuous drainage and, where provided, permeability of the surface. As an example, car parking and parking areas can be made with a driveway lawn finish and instead provide self-locking elements for transit areas, ensuring water drainage.

In the case of reduced available thicknesses, the integration of a three-dimensional geo-structure can be considered to create a confined and stabilized subgrade of limited thickness on which the other system elements can then be installed.

PAVEMENT IN REINFORCED SCREED ON MEDIDRAIN AND FINISHES IN CONCRETE / ASPHALT / SLABS OF STONE / POSSIBLE GRAVEL PARKING AREAS

Typically, cast-in-place reinforced concrete is provided in the case of driveway surfaces subject to the passage of heavy vehicles or high traffic with sustained speed and reduced availability of thickness for the construction of other stratigraphy. The MediDrain drainage, build up, and aeration system can act as a disposable formwork to accommodate and contain the reinforced concrete casting, above which a driveway finish suitable for the intended use can then be constructed.

With this type of waterproof finish, it will be most important to convey surface runoff water to storm drains (Harpo verdepensile accessories) or to permeable infiltration areas (gravel parking area or driveway lawn).
