Cantina Pieropan - Soave (VR)
The construction of wineries increasingly involves the use of green roof systems
GREEN ROOF SYSTEMS CONTRIBUTE TO EXCELLENT INDOOR COMFORT BY INCREASING THERMAL INERTIA, PROVIDING A COOL AND CONSTANT CLIMATE IN SUMMER, AND REDUCING HEAT LOSS IN WINTER. ADDITIONALLY, THEY ENHANCE THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

The Leonildo Pieropan Winery is harmoniously immersed in nature thanks to the choice of underground construction implemented by the observation of the morphology of the territory – this solution combines production needs and environmental sustainability.
The winery is discreetly located beneath a raised hillside, creating an underground production area. This integration with the landscape respects the environment while aligning production with the local territory.
The roof supports a two-meter high ground in which an experimental driveway vineyard of Pinot Blanc has been planted, creating a continuum with the surrounding landscape.
The Pieropan winery prioritizes environmental sustainability through initiatives such as rainwater harvesting via green roofs, reducing water consumption and enabling water reuse. The underground construction contributes to energy efficiency and climate control, resulting in reduced cooling costs.
