The tourist facility housed in the Fortified Farm offers a blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, each with its own distinct purpose. The outdoor space is organized on 3 levels: on one of them stands a roof garden that is home to fragrant native plants native to the Mediterranean environment that mark paths and trails to be traveled in order to best enjoy the specificities of the place.

The Masseria garden, which is located above some of the structure’s most beautiful suites, is nothing more than an incredible roof garden: in fact, the entire green area is placed on a loft.

“We find rosemary, sage, roses, strawberry trees, olive trees and even trees belonging to the oak family, combined to form a splendid example of Mediterranean biodiversity. All perfectly designed to optimize consumption in terms of water and to have the least possible impact on the surrounding environment: special substrates and a continuous-flow drainage system by Harpo verdepensile were used. Everything has been designed and implemented in a way that enhances the strengths of this ancient farmhouse, a flagship of the city of Matera.”
